Albany Public Library

What a fabulous Library and service to the community of Albany. As travelers who spent nearly 3 months in Albany since December we were so impressed with the space, services and lovely staff. I used their Digital Help in December for Seniors and was welcome even though we were not local residents. Helped me with a number of issues I had with my laptop after downloading Windows 11, which I was very grateful for. Staff even emailed me with links of possible fixes for some of the issues. My wife and I also spent many hours in the quiet space upstairs doing our planning and using the excellent wifi. We also enjoyed a documentary on the life of Paul Kelly which was fabulous. Thank you Albany you are the best we have encountered on all our travels around Australia!!

Albany Library is such a wonderful place. The staff are wonderful, and particularly the youth librarian staff do such a great job engaging the children, encouraging and fostering a love of reading from an early age. The events they hold for children are fantastic, but also a nice place to hang out even without events on. It is an amazing place bringing community and families together. There are also so many resources to access, they’ll even consider and purchase resources (like particular books they don’t have) suggested by members! Having free access to the e-books and e-audiobooks is also a great perk of membership. We love our library. Thank you!

Massive and modern library. It is an absolute pleasure to work from there, there's heaps of space, especially upstairs. Toilets both downstairs and upstairs.The WiFi is unlimited but there's a time out after 2 hours and you'll need to reconnect. But it is good speed.

The walls come alive after dark when projected images capture your attention. This is part of a precinct using information panels and lighting to educate visitors.

A nice little cosy library. Friendly service. Often has a book sale where one can buy a book for $1 or $2. Such a bargain. Very central location as well. Always a great place to be.

Books, quiet, technology and Dad’s Stories every Saturday morning around 10:15. What more could be asked for by a young family introducing their kid(s) to the wonders of reading?Check out desks that drop down to their level. I ask you, “how could you make kids any more at home?” Bring them here, embrace the stillness and then take as many books home as you possibly can.

Beautiful library, has upstairs and downstairs. Clean, well spaced. Comfortable and clean seating. But would have to be the noisiest library ever.
